Enhanced Sickness Benefit
Eligibility conditions

For receiving this benefit, Insured Person/Insured Woman  must satisfy the eligibility condition as for sickness benefit.

7 days or 14 days of enhanced sickness benefit will not be counted against the period of 91 days sickness benefit.

Neither enhanced sickness benefit and sickness benefit nor enhanced sickness benefit and extended sickness benefit can be claimed for the same period. An insured person who undergoes sterilisation  operation while in receipt of ESB can claim enhanced sickness benefit for such operation if otherwise eligible instead of ESB, thereafter ESB can be claimed. 

 
No waiting period will also be applied where a spell of enhanced sickness benefit is followed by a spell of ordinary sickness benefit. Where the abstention is spread over to two benefit period, the eligibility to benefit and rate in each benefit period will be examined with reference to the RC relating to corresponding contribution period and the payment may be made accordingly.
