 Wage ceiling for ESI cover up from Rs. 7500/- to Rs. 10000/- per month, effective 1st, April, 2006. 
Four more slabs of cash benefit rate introduced to cater to new entrants and re-entrants.
  Daily wage threshold for exemption from employees' contribution up from Rs. 50 to Rs. 70/- effective 1st August 2007
  Rate of annual assistance to State governments has been increased from Rs 900 to Rs 1000 per insured person with effect from 01.04.2007.
